MOM, YOU ARE MY HEART AND SOUL.
Thank you.....
For standing by me through thick and thin.
For not giving up on me when I didn’t win.
For Your patience when I kept pushing you away.
For carrying when I didn’t need you anyway.
I am grateful knowing....
I can’t count on your strength.
Ask for your support, and know you’ll go to any length.
When I lose my way, you help me get back on track.
When in pain, your comfort soothes and brings me back.
I am lucky because ......
When I was sad you gave me faith and hope.
When I was confused you taught me how to cope.
When I felt I couldn’t go on you carried me long miles.
When I didn’t believe you restarted my smiles.
Mom, thank you....
For your guidence and your faith you’ve shown.
For showing me a safe place where I have grown.
For showing me how to strive.
Because of your love, I will survive.

THE VALUE OF TIME.
To realize the value of one year,
Ask a student who has failed his final exams.

To realize the value of one month,
Ask a mother who has given birth to premature baby.

To realize the value of one day,
Ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of an hour,
Ask the lovers who are waiting for their beloveds.

To realize the value of one second,
Ask the person who has lost a gold medal.

THE PLACE OF ENGLISH IN INDIA
English has remained with us so long that now it has become a part and parcel of our daily life. It is such an endless treasure of knowledge that we will impoverish ourselves if we decide to go without it. The slogans against English are coined by those who are narrow-minded. By their narrow thinking, they are doing more harm than good to the nation. Almost all big and great works are in English. It would be ridiculous to translate all the scientific and technical terms into Hindi language. However, all this is not to suggest that pride of place in India should go the English language. We must honour our national language and take all steps for its development. All works, as far as possible, should be done in national and regional languages. But we should have no prejudice against the English language if we are not to deprive ourselves of the latest developments in the field of science and technology.

MOTHER
Hundreds of stars
          in the petty sky,
Hundreds of flowers
          in the gardens trim,
Hundreds of bees
          go buzzing by
Hundreds of fishes,
          in the sea they swim,
Hundreds of raindrops,
          to beat the beat,
Hundreds of friends
          that we long met
Hundreds of butterflies
          they flutter,
But there is nothing
          as precious as one Mother.

LIFE IS LIKE AN EXAM

God is a great examiner,
we all are students in the class.
Our life is an answer book,
the world is an examination hall.
The time allowed three hours:
The first hour of exam is spent in childhood.
The second hour of exam is spent in enjoying the youth.
And the final hour of exam is in the years of old age.
The final call given by God, which means the end of examination.
So life comes to an end !
So, do something better in this exam.

ALWAYS REMEMBER
When snake is alive, snake eats ants
When snake is dead, ants eat snake.
Time can turn any time,
Don’t neglect any one in your life.
A good way to change someone’s
attitude is to change, our own.
Because the same sun melts butter and also hardens clay!
Life is as we think, so think beautifully.
Life is just a sea, we are moving without end.
Nothing stays with us.
What remains is just the memories of some people.
who touched us as waves.

HISTORY OF CHAIL
The flamboyant Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala built Chail as his ‘Summer Capital’ when he was banned from Shimla after a clash with British in 1891. Never one to be left behind, the Maharaja Patiala conjured up his very own xanadu, the Chail a magnificent mansion in surroundings that overshadowed any resort the British Commanded. Chail is built on three hills, the place on Rajagarh hill, the British Residencey on Pandhewa hill and Sadh Tiba is the third hill.
Sadh Tiba was originally the site of the Palace but the originally halted construction there and built a temple, Sidh Baba Ka Mandir, following a dream. Today the Chail Palace is a luxury hotel that seems to hang from the clouds, perched on the hilltop and surrounded by pine and deodar forests.

WHY NOT A GIRL?
People pray for a baby.
Not for a girl,
They desire a boy,
Not a girl,
Why?
          Blessings of elder are
          For males
          Not for females,
          They shower blessings on
Boy but not on a girl,
          Why?
But ……………
When they need
Wealth they pray to
Goddess Laxmi,
Why?
          And when they need courage,
          They pray to goddess Durga,
          When they desire knowledge,
          They pray to Goddess Saraswati
          Why?
So now the question arises?
When it comes to accept a girl child,
Why do they say, ‘No’.

SORRY
Sorry is a word which produces a beautiful effect on every one whether young or old, male or female, illiterate or literate, civilized or uncivilized. You may hurt the feelings of someone and when he or she threatens to beat you up just say “Sorry Please” and you can go scot free.
Such is the charming and magical effect of this word “Sorry”.
So my dear friends remember the power of sorry. Whenever you are in a fire “Sorry” may come to your rescue at any time.

NEGATIVE SIDE OF WINE CONSUMPTION
It is important to know the negative sides of wine consumption as some of its adverse effects can aggravate certain conditions and illnesses. The following health risks have been associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages including wine.
One of the most widely understood long term effect of over indulging in alcoholic beverages is liver disease. When alcohol is drunk in large quantities, this organ has to work overtime. Eventually, after years of alcohol abuse, the liver may fail to work properly or simply quit functioning altogether. Some individuals who become alcoholics may suffer from cirrhosis of the liver which can lead to death. Drinking wine or any form of alcohol while pregnant may have long term effects on a child. An unborn baby may suffer the following negative side effects of being exposed to alcohol :
v  Smaller in size than other children of their age.
v  Learning problems.
v  Behaviour problem.
v  Birth defects.
There is evidence that wine, particularly red wine, may trigger migraine headaches in some individuals. Tannins and Phenolic flavanoids, both found in grape skins, may be the cause.
There is a potential for weight gain when drinking wine or any other alcoholic beverage. Alcohol contains empty catories and triglycerides, which contribute to increased LDL or “bad cholesterol” levels.
According to studies by the National Cancer Institutes, alcohol consumption is related to estrogen positive breast cancer in post-menopausal women. Drinking alcohol increases estrogen level and raises the rate of tumor progression.
